Having issues with writing cover letters?

Good day, young Job seekers! I trust we are doing great today. It's nice to be taking you on this journey today, I am Judith and I would be dropping some points on COVER LETTER! Whose excited?
Quickly,  what is a COVER LETTER? Hmm... A Big question if you ask me, but in simple terms, a cover letter is letter that covers, I.e it gives details about the undercovered aspects or areas of your cv or resume. Let me add that recently I found that resumes are not only for the purpose of job searching but that's a topic for another day. So back to our discussion, "cover letter", I said a cover gives details of your resume, you want to talk about the wonderful things and why you are the best for the job,  a cover letter is a place to do it, you can either make or mar your chances of getting "that job/appointment by your cover letter. Your would-be employer "meets" you before he meets you via your cover letter. More often than not your cover letter gives a vivid description of whom you are and what you're capable of doing,  you know, your personality type. So where next you are required to write a cover letter, remember that your cover letter is you. Also, you should feel free to tell all the points that make you the best fit for the job, but remember you cannot know if you are the best fit for that job if you don't check up the job requirements, not all jobs are for you(you know what I mean), plus if there's no job description by the employer, you could look up the job description from the Internet, for example, you're applying for the position of a SECRETARY  if the employer does not attach a job description to the advertisement, go on the internet and search for the job description of a secretary and then tailor your cover letter to fit it, but then you must be yourself, give the employer reasons to believe he or she would be losing a lot if you were not hired. Having said all these,  I will  quickly drop some tips on what to look out for while you write your next cover letter;

  • Heading/subject of your mail: for every cover letter you write it is usually tailored to a certain job type, it makes it easier for the recruiter to easily identify your mail, any mail or cover letter without a heading indicating the job being applied for most times are not treated, as it is assumed that you want to waste the time of the recruiter, they already know if you would be spared the time of the day to go through your cover letter.
  • Address:  In addressing your cover letter you must never be generic when I mean generic, I mean you shouldn't address the cover letter with " dear sir/ma" it shows you did not take your time to research the company, but in cases where the recruiting officer is not known it's better to refer to them as sir, but do your research and do find out who the appropriate contact is for the cover letter.
  • State what you can do for the company /organization: we all know that every organization is about profit,  it may not be financially, but from the job description you can tell where the profit of the organization is as it pertains to the advertised job opening. Take for instance the opening for the Secretary like I stated before, one key thing an organization would gain from the position of a secretary is "attention to details" if a secretary has this as one of her strength it means it saves/profit the organization, since most things would be properly accounted for and reduces wastage, having this knowledge one writing a cover letter could stress their strength of attention to detail by giving instances of when that attention to detail had saved your previous employer, I have not said that all organization needs a secretary because of the ability to pay attention to details, but you'll know what an organization counts as profit when you research the organization.
  • Never be generic with your cover letter I can't stress this enough, while it's good you have a template, never send the same cover letter to different employers for different jobs, for every job application you must have a specific cover letter, it's okay to have a template to guide you, but not for all jobs application.
Before I drop the end this journey today, I would want to stress that a cover letter is not an application letter, they are different letters and they serve different purposes, a cover letter never stands alone it must be accompanied by a cv/resume but for the application letter, it often stands alone. Always remember that your cover letter is your best shot at selling yourself to the employer.

Many people undermine,the importance of having their business registed, owning to ignorance and fear of cost on the other hand, little do they know that, the benefits far outweighs whatever fear or doubts they may be having. The truth is you can't proudly say, you own a business, or call yourself an entrepreneurs or a business man or woman when such business does not have legal backing or it is not registered. She has waited for this time to come. She registered in a fashion school in the town she lives, she was learning steadily, four months into the training, clarion call finally came, she received her call -up lette
